Do Your Headsets Meet ANSI Standards?
ANSI standards S3.19-1974 and S12.6-1997 specify that patients undergoing MRI should be provided with noise reduction devices offering a minimum of 29 dB Noise Reduction Rating (NRR). Only the 30dB Coil Headset and Noise Guard Headset 29dB featured on this site are certified being appropriately rated to meet this standard. All other headsets are not rated to reduce noise sufficiently, and therefore must be used in conjunction with earplugs with a minimum NRR rating of 29 in order to be ANSI compliant.
